Takata Airbag Recall

The Australian Government has mandated a recall for vehicles that are equipped with frontal Takata airbag inflators utilizing phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate propellant lacking a desiccant. This recall affects specific Holden vehicles and is necessary due to the potential danger posed by the airbag inflators as they age. Over time, high temperatures and humidity can cause the airbags to malfunction, leading to excessive explosive force during deployment, resulting in the ejection of sharp metal fragments that may cause serious injury or death to passengers. Holden has committed to replacing the affected driver airbags progressively, to ensure the safety of its customers.
